Geekfest Rants Ep/371: Star Wars Droid Slavery

"Hey, we don't serve their kind here...Your droids. They'll have to wait outside. We don't want them here."  These lines from the Cantina bartender in Star Wars, prompted a whole bunch of questions from us lately. 

Is there a prejudice against droids in the Star Wars universe? Are droids treated like slaves?  Are droid sentient?  What could have prompted this anti-droid sentiment?
