Hey kids! We have an awesome show ahead of us this week! We start off with a bit off talk about the weekly grind and about this VHS Tape that I found that had some neat stuff on it. 

From there we talk about a Rob Pattinson movie called The Rover and some about my thoughts on him becoming Batman.. It's pretty fun and hopefully somewhat informative.

For the main event of the show we talk about lunchboxes, mostly my collection of them. I go over everyone that I have. Don't worry, it's more fun than it sounds.

Then we finish off with some talk about the new Star Wars Vintage figures and The Mego Fighting Championship. It's a pretty good time.

This week on The TRU RPT we start off with a new jam from Iceberg and MC Kate (Makes The Mic Disintegrate) Then we are lucky enough to have IB in the booth with us and he tells us a bit about his mixing style and then we have a new Johnny Court Commercial. It's all fun

From there we take a look at Detective Pikachu, the first ever live action Pokemon Game. It was alright.

For the main event we talk a bit about the start of flea market season and what that means to us and what we got at our first 40/8 Flea Market of the year. It's a pretty fun segment.

At the end of the show we talk about a VHS Tape I found and some other stuff of that sort. It's all good.

Vintagesploitation. Have you ever heard this term before?  We had not, until we listened to an episode of The Chive Cast and we started to notice a new trend in marketing Star Wars toys: appeal to Star Wars collectors by recreating vintage looking items.  Is this a money grab or a new, innovative way to  give collectors what they want? 

Then we tackle the novel, The Exorcist.  Is it as good as the movie?  And what is the connection between this book and the classic TV cop, Detective Columbo?

This week on the show we start off with a new song by Iceberg Thirteen and MC Kate. It's pretty hyphy.. 

From there we talk about a few things including a death defying trip I took to get a Jon Snow action figure.. It's pretty nuts.

Then we take a look at a couple of DVDs I rented, one was called The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then Bigfoot. The other is called Dragged Across Concrete. It's the latest from Craig Zahler.. It's long.

Hey kids. This week we're gonna take a look at a classic from the past.. Episode number 26 where we took a look at all the Chewbacca figures produced by Kenner... I felt like it was a fitting tribute to the recently passe Peter Mayhew. I recorded a new intro complete with a TROY to Mr. Mayhew.. He shall be missed.

Hey kids! Thanks for stopping by, this week we have a great show ahead of us. It's special for a few reasons. For the first time EVER! we tackle a topic involving Star Wars AND this is our longest episode to date! Awesome right?

Outside of Chewbacca we talk about the sad closure of a local video store, A GREAT movie that I saw and when it finally gets down to The Real Toy Talk we go on so long about Chewbacca that I had to add an extra 10 minutes to the show to fit it it all in. 

 

We talk about Wookies and their homeworld and what sort of physical gifts a Wookie is born with. It's fascinating stuff! We talk about Chewie and the movies and why he has always been a special character to me. 

 

There is a bunch of great stuff this week including a bunch of new musical breaks. Real great stuff. Honestly this might be my favorite show to date.. 

 

 I want to give a big shout out to KRS One and thank him helping us with the structure of the show. Without him I never would have come up with at least half of it! 

 

It's a great show like always make sure to tell a friend!

Today on GeekFest Rants, Carlos and Steve return to recap the highlights from Star Wars Celebration Chicago 2019. This time around we cover the return of The Clone Wars, Hasbro's newest toys, the soon to be open Galaxy's Edge, for our gamers out there - Jedi Fallen Order, and the soon to be premiering Disney+ original show, The Mandalorian. 

The films might be taking a little break soon but the Star Wars world is about to get a lot bigger.

This week on the show we start off with something amazing, a brand new, never before heard clip from Johnny 5's new syndicated TV show, Johnny Court. Dudes, it's so great and has to be heard to believed!

From there we talk about a couple of movies I saw the 1st one was a super weird Sci-Fi flick called High Life. It was nuts and I had a real hard time reviewing it while still keeping the show family friendly..

Then it's on.. what may be the biggest movie of ALL THE TIMES!!! Avengers End Game.. dude, I saw it, loved it and review it for you while still remaining spoiler free.. 

For the final segment we take some calls and texts and then open my latest Mego Acquisition.. The Glow In The Dark Frankenstein.. I love him..

This week on the show IseeRobots goes at it alone as IB13 and Engineer Emily are off on vacation. It's all good though. 

On the board and on the mic at the same time ISR starts off with some talk about Rey and Star Wars and about believing in yourself. It's kind of boring but also a litte fun.

From there we head into At The Movies and a look at DC's latest flick, Shazam. BITD they used to call him Captain Marvel but with the MCU using that name he's all about SHAZAM! Now, it was a pretty fun flick and we'll talk all about it. 

Then for the main event we take a peek at a pro wrestling documentary called 350 days. it was a pick from show patron Javier. The flick takes a look at what it was like on the road for some of wrestling's biggest stars from the days of yore..

At the end we take some text messages and answer some questions. It's a good time..

Before we get there though we talk about another wacky movie I saw, this one is called Beach Bum.. It's Harmony Korine's latest.. Dude, it was weird but I liked it.

We get an appearance from Engineer Emily, talk about the song Easy Lover and have a super exciting commercial for J-5's new TV Show, Johnny Court. You HAVE to hear it!

Today on GeekFest Rants we return to our Happy Place... Star Wars toys.  Join Carlos as we take a deep dive into Star Wars concept ship toys. 

We'll begin with Galoob's Series Alpha, then to Hasbro Solo additions, and to the Hot Wheels concept Cantwell collection.  When it comes to three dimensional representations of small size concept ships, there are plenty out there to collect. 

Then we jump to 1977, to the pre home video days of Star Wars with the Star Wars Movie Viewer.  This is probably the earliest version of being able to watch 40 second clips of the movie at home for an affordable price. No Batteries Needed.

This week on the show we start off with a bit of philosophical talk that get's interrupted by Engineer Emily. She guides us into a discussion on the Christmas party from a few years ago and Fleetwood Mac.

Then we talk about Jordan Peele's latest flick US. I thought it was interesting and we'll share some details while still remaining spoiler free.

For the main event we talk on my Top 5 Favorite Game Shows of All The Time and Space.. I think there are a couple real talking points in here. Let me know what you think.

At the end we take a voicemail and talk about a Token Show I went to at the Vet's Building.. It's exactly what it sounds like.. A show about tokens..

You have good movies and bad movies.  Usually the good movies are the ones you want to re-watch.   But not always.  Today on GeekFest Rants join Carlos and Steve as they go down the list of some very good movies that for different reason, we may not want to see again.  These are film like Schindler's List, The Shining, Glory, Oldboy, and many more.

What is it about these good films that might prevent us, or you, from giving them a second viewing?

 

This week on the show we start off with a new song from MC Kate and Iceberg 13. He takes on another cooking produce infomercial. The song is called "Kicked Up Hot Dogs" and I think it's pretty great. Thanks Iceberg! 

From there we talk about the latest Marvel flick. It's called Captain Marvel, it stars the delightful Brie Larson and Sam Jackson. It was pretty fun and I'll tell you all about it.

Then for the main event we head over to The Sac Toy Con where I got up on some GI Joes and had a pretty fun time. Make sure to head over to IseeRobots Television and check out the video I shot of the day. It's pretty fun! 

Then for the final segment we read some text messages, take a call and have some fun doing this and that.

Today on GeekFest Rants we are going to take a trip back to a planet ruled by talking apes.  Join Carlos Perrone as he again welcomes back writer Andrew E.C. Gaska to chat about his latest book, Death of the Planet of the Apes. 

If you ever wondered what happened to Taylor between the first and second film, his military war experience, and his involvement with ANSA, this is the book that answers those questions.  Plus we also discuss Andrew's two previous Apes books, Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes and the short story collection, Tales from the Forbidden Zone. This week on the show we start off with a tale of our aborted trip to Lake Tahoe and what I did with the week instead of sledding. I saw movies basically. There, I saved you ten minutes.

From there we head to At The Movies where I talk about some of the movies that I took in, Fighting With My Family, Arctic, Alita: Battle Angel and more. It's a pretty quick breakdown of a lot of different movies.

In the final segment I open a Mego, talk about losing my little black runt of a cat and then talk about our new Patreon Supporter and take a text from our dude Engineer Nerd. He asks a pretty good question. It's overall a fun show this week.

It's that time of the year...New York Toy Fair 2019 time.  The time we get to see all these new cool toys but cannot buy them just yet.  This year we are going Retro in more ways than one.  From Hasbro producing a Retro line of Kenner Star Wars figures, to new additions from Reaction, like They Live and Planet of the Apes.  Plus. look out, The Warriors are coming. 

Then we dive into our poster of the month with the 1983, Brian DePalma-Al Pacino classic, Scarface.  We'll look at the design of the poster plus we also examine the movie tie-in novel by Paul Monette. 

This week on the show we start off with a brand new song from DJ Iceberg 13. It's called "Melt That Cheese" and it features a sample from some infomercial Iceberg was watching the other day. It's pretty fun.

From there we take a call from Hollywood Agent A.B Silver about Johnny 5's upcoming project. Let's hope that we can find something out.

The next segment is At The Movies where we talk about the latest revenge flick from Liam Neeson. It's called Cold Pursuit and I'm gonna tell you guys all about it.

Then at the end we take a text from Stuntman Mike and talk to Emily about the fin that she has on the top of her head before opening up my latest Mego purchase LIVE ON THE AIR! It's pretty fun.
